CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, February 20, <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br />Consultant Len Levine <br /> <br />2001, at the <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) 2020 Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman presented the Council with the summary of the changes City Council <br />agreed to in the letter dated November 7, 2000, and reviewed those items. He explained that the <br />Met Council is willing to waive the rural permanent issue, but are looking for an urban reserve <br />study area to study the feasibility of an urban area past the year 2020. The study area would not <br />be a commitment for sewer and water. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that "first comes the study and then comes action". He <br />stated that the Met Council keeps asking for more. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the Livable Communities Act was originally something <br />that the City could decide on a year to year basis and now it is something that is part of the <br />permm~ent plan. <br /> <br />City Council/February 20, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
