ORDINANCE #05-13 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BUILDING AND HOUSING CItAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.21 "SWIMMING POOL AND SPA I>ERMTI'' OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. Thc City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION I AUTHORITY This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the charter of the City of Ramscy. SECTION 2 REPEAL Subdivision 2 (Permit and Fee) of Section 8.21.03 (Administration and Permit) and Sections 8.21.05 (Setback Requirements), 8.21.06 (Fencing), 8.21.07 (Utility Lines), 8.21.08 (Noise), 8.21.09 (Lighting), 8.21.10 (Pool Walkway Deck and Deck Drains), and 8.21.11 (Swimming Pool Drainage) are hereby repealed. SECTION 3 AMENDMENTS Subsection 8.21.01 (Definitions) shall be amended to include the following language: Swimming Pool - Shall be defined as any swimming pool, permanent or portable, above ground or in ground, and which is more than twenty-four (24) inches in depth and has a surface area which exceeds 200 square feet (equivalent of 16 foot diameter circle). Subsection 8.21.03 (Administration and Permit) shall be amended as follows: Subdivision 1. Building Permit. Prior to construction of a swimming pool or spa having a water volume of 5,000 or more gallons, a building permit issued pursuant to the Minnesota State Building Code shall be required. Subsection 8.21.12 (Electrical Requirements) shall be amended as follows: 8.21.05 Electrical Requirements. All electrical installations and current-carrying electrical conductors shall conform to the State Electrical Code and each swimming pool or spa shall receive those permits and inspection as required by the State Electrical Inspector.
