CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Public Works Director Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:58 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig indicated Case No. 3 will be moved up to precede Case No. 1. <br /> <br />Thc agenda was approved as amended. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />3) East/West Corridor Alignment <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed that the 2005-2009 Capital Improvement Program includes <br /> th <br />a proposed project #04-STR-020 with the project name of 167 Avenue Extension. This project <br />would be the new 167th Avenue corridor created between Nowthen Boulevard and Armstrong <br />Boulevard. The alignment for the corridor extension was discussed through the last <br />Comprehensive Planning process. During the transportation discussions of the Comprehensive <br />Planning process, the City Council changed the alignment and selected a more northerly route <br />after considering three separate alternatives.
