CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Councilmember Todd Cook Councilmember David Elvig Councilmember David Jeffrey Councilmember Sarah Strommen Members Absent: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Mary Jo Olson Councilmember A1 Pearson Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Director of Public Works Dean Kapler Assistant Public Works Director Brian Olson CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:58 p.m. APPROVE AGENDA Mayor Pro Tern Elvig indicated Case No. 3 will be moved up to precede Case No. 1. Thc agenda was approved as amended. COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION 3) East/West Corridor Alignment City Administrator Norman reviewed that the 2005-2009 Capital Improvement Program includes th a proposed project #04-STR-020 with the project name of 167 Avenue Extension. This project would be the new 167th Avenue corridor created between Nowthen Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard. The alignment for the corridor extension was discussed through the last Comprehensive Planning process. During the transportation discussions of the Comprehensive Planning process, the City Council changed the alignment and selected a more northerly route after considering three separate alternatives. Recent discussions with John Peterson of Oakwood l~and Development have suggested a new alignment for the corridor extension. City Council Work Session / July 19, 2005 Page 1 of 6
