FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday August 14, 2001, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Terry Hendricksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />TIF Specialist Sean Sullivan <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Clerk Jo Thieling <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Hendriksen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:33 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Receive and Review Telephone System Quotes; Select Telephone System <br />Proposal <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes stated that on September 1, 2000, staff advised the <br />City Council that the newly hired receptionist had submitted her resignation after one week of <br />employment with the City. She stated that she found the telephone outdated and difficult to use. <br />Administrative Services staff agreed that the telephone system does not efficiently or adequately <br />handle the large and increasing volume of telephone calls that the City receives. Staff was <br />directed to solicit quotes for a new system and $50,000 was approved for the 2001 City budget. <br />The Assistant City Administrator met with Administrative Services to find out what features they <br />wanted for a phone system.
