FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday December 12, 2000, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendricksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Finance Officer Diana Lurid <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Human Resources Manager Rhonda Heryla <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:41 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Review and Adopt 2001 Tax Levy and General Fund Budget <br /> <br />Finance Office Lund stated that the 2001 Truth-in-Taxation public hearing was held on Monday, <br />December 4, 2000, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The information distributed at the <br />hearing included information regarding the tax capacity rate and tax dollar utilizing the certified <br />maximum proposed tax levy that was certified in September, 2000. The 2001 proposed General <br />Fund Budget, as it has been presented and reviewed in the past several months, is based on the <br />collection of tax dollars and results in an estimated 27.615 tax capacity rate. This budget was <br />balanced through staff recommended adjustments and resulted in a total contingency in the <br />amount of $108,971. The budget also includes an increase in the staffing complement by one <br />full-time Street Maintenance Worker, one full-time Patrol Officer, one full-time Crime <br />Prevention Specialist, one full-time Clerk II for Records Retention, one full-time Fire/Building <br />Code Inspector, one part-time Community Service Officer, and one half-time Building <br /> <br />Finance Committee/December 12, 2000 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
