CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Norman <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />#1: 2001 Budget <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman explained that this is the first year that the levy limits will not apply, <br />but noted that it is likely, that the legislature will put levy limits back on for the year 2002. He <br />stated that the Council has to adopt a preliminary budget by September 15t~ and after that date the <br />budget cannot be increased. The preliminary budget distributed to the Council included a <br />proposed $1,028,938 levy increase prior to any budget deletions. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund presented the Council with some possible budget deletions and reviewed <br />the impact the budget increase would have on Ramsey residents. <br /> <br />City Council/August 8, 2000 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
