PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard, NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Mayor Gamec (alternate) <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson (alternate) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Elvig <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Public Works Director Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton <br />Assistant Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Riverblood <br />Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Cook called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at <br />5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Jim Gronlund, resident, stated he would like to know if there has been a decision made regarding <br />the chevrons in his neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mayor Garnec replied a decision was made at the last Public Works Committee meeting to leave <br />the chevrons in place for a couple of months and review the situation. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson informed Mr. Gronlund that his letter and pictures ~vere <br />distributed at the last Public Works Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Gronlund reviewed the situation outlined in his letter distributed to Public Works where the <br />van with a flatbed trailer and bobcat was driving too fast and went off the road. He stated this <br />driver lives in the neighborhood and drives the street every day. He stated the chevrons will not <br />impact the people that live in the neighborhood and already know about the curve.
