Weekly UPDATE <br />Administrator's Report <br />Council Update <br />City of <br />RAMSEY <br />RE CLING <br />DAY EVENT <br />• <br />Saturday, May 6 <br />8:00 a.m. until Noon <br />Spring Recycling Day Event <br />The Spring Recycling Day event will be on Saturday, May 6, <br />from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Ramsey Public Works facility, <br />14199 Jaspar Street NW. This is an opportunity for residents <br />to properly dispose of several materials not accepted in the <br />curbside recycling program, including appliances, electronics, <br />tires, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, oil, oil filters, antifreeze, <br />mattresses, box springs and scrap metal. The standard curbside <br />materials (e.g. cardboard, aluminum, steel and tin cans, <br />newspaper, plastic bottles, tubs, and lids one gallon or less <br />in size, glass jars and bottles) will also be accepted. Finally, <br />residents can take advantage of FREE paper shredding at the <br />Spring Recycling Day event (limited to no more than three <br />boxes of documents; the shredded paper does get recycled). <br />For more information on the Spring Recycle Day Event, <br />please visit www.cityoframsev.com/376/Recyclina. Attached <br />to the Weekly Update is the Spring Reyyling Day Event Flyer. <br />Parks & Recreation Events and Updates <br />• City-wide Garage Sale <br />The City-wide Garage sale is scheduled for Friday, May <br />5 and Saturday, May 6, 8:00 - 5:00 pm. A map of the 79 <br />garage sale sites is available on the City of Ramsey website at <br />wwwcitvoframsev.com/941/CitvWide-Garage-Sale. City <br />Hall and the Public Works building. <br />May 5, 2023 <br />City of #1,< <br />RAMSEY <br />We're Hiring! <br />The City of Ramsey is hiring for the following positions: <br />• Police Officer (2 openings) <br />The primary objective of this position is to perform <br />responsible police work involving the protection and safety <br />of the community through prevention and control of crime, <br />maintaining or restoring public order, investigating crime, <br />regulating traffic, enforcing laws and providing emergency <br />services; as well as other related duties as required. This is <br />a full-time LELS-Patrol union position. The 2023 hiring <br />wage is $32.46 per hour. Application deadline is open <br />until filled, apply immediately if interested. <br />• Administrative Assistant Public Works <br />This position's primary objective is to perform various <br />responsible administrative support functions within the <br />Public Works Department. The work requires excellent <br />customer service and phone communications skills, general <br />knowledge of Microsoft applications, and a variety of office <br />procedures. This is a full-time AFSCME union position. <br />The 2023 hiring range is $23.96 to $29.95 per hour. The <br />application deadline is Wednesday, May 17, 2023. <br />• Seasonal Maintenance Workers (2 openings) <br />The primary objective of this position is to provide general <br />maintenance of streets, park grounds, trails, buildings, <br />and related facilities and equipment through the spring, <br />summer and possibly fall months. This also includes <br />mowing and trimming; pruning and planting trees or <br />working on landscape projects; maintaining athletic fields; <br />picking up trash; street and utilities maintenance. These are <br />temporary non -union positions working up to forty (40) <br />hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to <br />3:30 pm. Must be at least 17 years of age or older by June <br />1st and have a valid Minnesota driver's license. The 2023 <br />hiring wage is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on <br />qualifications.
