The Personnel Committee <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Chairperson John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Dehen called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Dehen, Councilmember Jeffrey and Mayor Ramsey. <br />Voting No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Discussion Regarding Timekeeping Systems <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone stated that staff was asked to take a look at advantages <br />and disadvantages of using time clocks for employees. She stated that there are several types of <br />systems that can be used. She stated that staff contacted LOGIS who administers the City's <br />finance system and was directed to three cities that have the same finance system and also use <br />time clocks. She stated that these cities only use the time clocks for community center <br />employees. She stated that in those cities the regular employees all self report their hours. She <br />stated that advantages of using time clocks may be salary savings, greater accuracy, and a <br />decrease in time keying the data.
