PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Chairperson Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jason Tossey <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher <br />Deputy City Adm./Dir. of Community Dev. Heidi Nelson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Jeffrey called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Jeffrey, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Councilmembers McGlone and Tossey. <br />Voting No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Consider a Resolution to Reclassify the Fire Inspector to Fire Marshal <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher reviewed the staff report. Fire Chief Kapler <br />followed with additional information regarding the value of having a Fire Marshal that can <br />interpret the fire code while maintaining good relationships with the city's businesses. <br />Councilmember Tossey asked for clarification regarding the job descriptions and Chief Kapler <br />answered his questions. Councilmember McGlone asked about the division of duties between <br />the Building Official and the Fire Marshal and Chief Kapler answered his questions as well. <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Jeffrey, to approve the <br />reclassification as stated in the case. <br />Personnel Committee / February 8, 2011 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
