PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a closed session on Tuesday, August 13, 2012, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Chairperson Jason Tossey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Tossey called the closed session to order at 4:51 p.m. <br />2. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />2.01: Consider a Resolution to Re -Authorize a Leave of Absence (This discussion is closed <br />to the public) <br />City Attorney Goodrich advised that under Minnesota Statutes, Section 13D.05, Subd. (a)(3)(4), <br />the meeting can move into closed session to discuss confidential personal matters. He indicated <br />closed session discussion will relate to a request for re -authorization of a leave of absence. The <br />Closed session will be tape recorded and that tape will be maintained for a period of eight years. <br />Human Resources Lasher reviewed the staff report and recommendation to consider a three -moth <br />leave of absence extension for a Police officer. <br />Following discussion, the consensus of the Personnel Committee was to recommend that the City <br />council adopt a resolution authorizing an additional four -month leave of absence to an employee <br />due to a serious medical condition. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Tossey, to close the closed <br />meeting of the Personnel Committee. <br />Motion carried. <br />Personnel Committee / August 13, 2012 — Closed Portion <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
