PLANNING ASD ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANCEA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, March 1, 19~8 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15163 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Jon Rambosek's request for <br />preliminary plat approval of Rambosek Red Oak Estates. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, (~nairman <br />Mr. Roy Sh~nway <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br /> <br />Also Present: CommunityDevelolmnent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mz. Michael Terry <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to Order at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Steve Nixon - 16300 Wolfr~n - Stated that eve~oody in the surrounding area <br />should be notifiedwhen roads are going to be extended or land will be <br />graded. The City Engineer was not aware of preparation of land last fall <br />until the third time we contacted hun. At that time, Mr. Rambosek did not <br />have the necessary permits to begin preparing the land; also will be <br />checking withDNRand the Corps of Engineers to determine whether he can <br />dig out wetlands or remove trees and bury the debris on the lots that will <br />be developed. Stated he moved to Ramsey to get away ~rom busy city life <br />and he is concerned with the increase of trafZic that will result from <br />extending roads and developing. One year ago, when Voltin's Oak Hill <br />Estates was platted, the citizens were told that the cul-de-sacs would be <br />the extent of new roads in this area. Menkveld's Country Park is a low <br />crime area and increased traffic through the area will change that. Stated <br />he is working on a petition requesting that the City leave Voltin's Oak <br />Hill Estates as is with no further subdividing and reads. <br /> <br />Tom Rachel - 6350 lb3rd Lane - Stated he has no opposition to t~e plat with <br />4 lots provided the road is not extended through the plat to join with <br />other adGitions. The increased traffic would impact the lifestyle, privacy <br />and property values in }~:veld's Country Park. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman requested a show or ~ands from persons desiring t~at <br />Rambosek's Red Oak Estates be developed with a cul-de-sac rather than a <br />Planning and Zoning Public Hearing/March 1, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
