ECONCMIC DEVELOPMENT C0P~tISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANCKA (/YJ NTY <br /> STA_~E OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Rmmsey Economic Develol~nent C~,,.~ssion conducted a special meeting on <br />Tuesday, March 1, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Don Greenberg, Chairman <br />Mr. Jack Ippel <br />Mr. Bernie Vevea <br /> <br />Also Present: Community Develol~nent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Muller <br />Mr. Steve Gorecki <br />Mr. Tom Kurak <br />Mr. Darryl Fults <br />Mr. Ken Wagner <br />Mr. Glen Hardin <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg called the special Economic Development Commission <br />meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted and discuss the items even <br />though there was not a quorum. <br /> <br />Requ_ est For Tax Increment Financina Participation By_ City: <br /> Case Of Mr. Rick Foster And Mr. Duke Carlson: <br /> <br />Mr. Rick Foster and Mr. Duke Carlson were present to review their proposal <br />to construct an apar~nent building south of the Food 'n' Fuel with some tax <br />increment financing assistance. <br /> <br />The C~maissioners discussed using tax increment financing for an apartment <br />project and asked whether other cities had done this. Anne Norris said <br />that she had asked Ron Batty, Bond Counsel, if he had worked on any tax <br />increment projects for apartments; Mr. Betty stated that other cities such <br />as Minnetonka, Lauderdale, Crystal, New Brighton and Richfield have used tax <br />increment financing for apartment projects. <br /> <br />Economic Develotznent Cu~u~,~ssion/March 1,1988 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
