CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKACOUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen (arrived at 6:41 p.m.) <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Ted Redmond, BKV Group <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:38 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was amended with Case No. 2 to precede Case No. 1. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Current City Hall/Fire Station Issues <br /> <br />Moved in the agenda to follow Case No. 2. <br /> <br />2) Fire Services to Burns Twp. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated for several months Fire Department Staff along with Public Safety <br />Board representatives Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Pearson have been engaged in <br />preliminary discussions with Bums Township about ideas to provide fire service to both <br />communities. Ramsey's motivation for this idea is to provide better coverage for the northem <br />portion of the City without construction of a third fire station in the immediate future.
