Councilman Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 80-1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY TO TAKE ACTION ON A MULTI USE <br />RECREATIONAL FACILITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota has requested that the Anoka County Commissioners <br />act on the following request: <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RAMSEY~ <br />MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) It is directed that this resolution be sent to the Anoka <br />County Commissioners requesting that they apply for a federal grant <br />through the Economic Development Administration or the Housing and <br />Urban Development Administration for the purpose of constructing a <br />multi recreational facility on the parcel of land described in <br />Appendix "A" (less the land needed for the bridge crossing). The <br />multi recreational facility should be so constructed to be energy <br />efficient. <br /> <br /> 2) The proposed recreational project should address indoor <br />activities and outdoor activities. <br /> <br /> 3) It is hereby requested that the Anoka County Commissioners <br />pursue securing grant to construct the above proposed center. It <br />should be noted that the City of Ramsey would not qualify for any gran%'' <br />program because the City could not provide the documentation showing <br />maximize use such a facility with neighboring communities. However, <br />the Anoka County could show maximize use in County projects where many <br />comm~mities in the area would be involved in a County sponsored project. <br /> <br /> 4) The Ramsey City Council hereby will donate the land re- <br />quirements for such a project. Please refer to Appendix "A" for land <br />description for this project. <br /> <br /> 5) It is further requested that the Anoka County keep the <br />Ramsey City Council informed of their progress on this project. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilman Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor G~nec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimarm and Sorteberg <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
