Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved <br />for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 80-la <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A TRI-CITY FIRE COI~MITTEE TO ]IIPLEMENT RECOI~ND- <br />ATIONS OF THE TRI-CITY FIRE SERVICE STUDY COI~MITTEE REPORT OF FEBRUARY, <br />1979. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Anoka, Champlin and Ramsey established <br />a Tri-City Fire Service Study Committee which presented a report in <br />FeBruary of 1979, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the recommendations of that report indicate that <br />there is a need to study the possibility of organizing a Tri-City Fire <br />Protection Bureau, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, other recommendations of the report should also be <br />reviewed, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka City Council, the Champlin City Council <br />and the Ramsey City Council are of the opinion that a Joint Committee <br />should be formed to implement the recommendations of the Tri-City Fire <br />Service Study Committee Report. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA as follows: <br /> <br />1) A committee be formed to examine the possibility of <br /> of organizing a Tri-City Fire Protection Bureau and <br /> also study other recommendations in the Tri-City Fire <br /> Service Study Committee Report of February, 1979. <br /> <br />The committee shall be made up of seven members (two <br />individuals from each community and the Anoka Fire <br />Chief). <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Each City shall appoint its Chief Administrative <br />Officer as one of its appointments. The other appoint- <br />ment will either be a member of its City Council or <br />a resident. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />The first meeting of the Tri-City Fire Committee shall <br />be called by the Chief Administrative Officers and <br />shall be held no later than February 29, 1980. The <br />agenda for the first meeting will be to elect a chair- <br />man and other organizational matters. <br /> <br /> <br />
