Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #81-22 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING THE EFFECTS OF METHANE GAS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council is very concerned about the ad- <br />verse effects of uncontrolled methane gas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council encourages the installation of a venting <br />system at the Ramsey Landfill in order to control and/or eliminate the ad- <br />verse effects of methane gas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council wants to be consulted as the placement <br />of the venting system's methane gas flame; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council believes the trenches in which the venting <br />system's pipes are laid should be covered each day at the end of work while <br />under construction. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the City is in favor of and encourages the methane <br />venting system. <br /> <br /> 2) That the City Council wants to be consulted and have input <br />in regards to the placement of the methane flame. <br /> <br /> 3) That while construction of the methane system is taking place <br />the trenches in which the pipes are laid shall be covered nightly. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by Councilmember Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br />voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann and Cox <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 16th day of April, 1981. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
