Councilmemb,~c Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #89-02-17 <br /> <br />RESOLU¥~ON AUTHORIZING REDISTRICTING OF PRECINCTS AND <br />ESTABI JSiIMENT OF POLLING PLACES. <br /> <br />WHER~,A~,~ o~:, November 1.6, 1988, Council received complaints of long voting <br />lines at Pc,~'~ci ,,.::I,s 1 and 3 and directed the Community Development Director to <br />research 'population numbers in all the precincts to determine whether the <br />boundaries r~e. ed adjusting or polling places need to be expanded; and <br /> <br />WHEI{EA.5;, on January 24, 1989, the City Council carried a motion to initiate <br />proceeding~ to divide Precinct 3 into 3A and 3B, using the existing Elk River <br />School. Di:;'~;ricl/Anoka Hennepin School District boundary and divide Precinct 1 <br />into PrecincLs; iiA and lB using Sunfish Lake Boulevard Northwest as a dividing <br />line. Further:, i. hat Precinct 3A would use the new Central Park Park Center as a <br />polling pla,:e and Precinct 3B would use the St. Anthony Gun Club; Precinct lA <br />would u~e tire Senior Citizen.
