PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, regarding a <br />request for a Conditional Use Permit for Two Ground Signs and to Exceed Sign Size <br />Restrictions; Case of Connexus Energy. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Interim Chairperson Leo Anderson <br />Commissioner Chris Dempsey <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Robert Johnson <br />Commissioner Bill Kociscak <br />Commissioner Michael Nixt <br />Commissioner Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Community Development Assistant Sean Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Interim Chairperson Anderson convened the public hearing at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated an application was received from Connexus Energy for a <br />conditional use permit for two ground signs. She said in commercial and industrial districts, the <br />City Code allows one ground or freestanding sign per commercial or industrial parcel. It also <br />restricts the sign size to 100 square feet. Connexus Energy has frontage on Ramsey Boulevard <br />and Industry Boulevard with a public access to the facility from each road. Connexus is <br />proposing to erect business identification signs at both of the public entrances to their facility. <br />The sign on Ramsey Boulevard is proposed to be 112 square feet in size or 12 square feet over <br />the established maximum. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/January 5, 1999 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
