ORDINANCE #00-09 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE BUILDING AND <br />HOUSING CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.30 "SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS" OF <br />CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Subsection 8.30.02 (Administration) shall be amended to include the following language: <br /> <br />8.30.02A Maintenance <br /> <br />Frequency of Assessment. the owner of an individual sewage treatment system <br />or the owner's agent shall regularly, but in no case less frequently than every <br />three years: <br /> <br />Assess whether the sewage tank leaks below the designed operating depth <br />and whether sewage tank tops, riser joints, and riser connections leak <br />through visual evidence of major defects; and <br /> <br />Measure or remove the accumulations of scum, which includes grease and <br />other floating materials at the top of each septic tank and compartment <br />along with the sludge, which includes the solids denser than water. <br /> <br />Pumping Reports. Septic tank pumpers shall file a monthly Pumping Report at <br />the City, upon forms supplied by the City, on each system serviced and provide <br />all the applicable details requested. These forms shall become part of the <br />permanent City records. <br /> <br />Notification Process. The three- (3) year assessment requirement shall be <br />featured in the official City Newsletter annually as a reminder of the ISTS <br />requirements. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of Ordinance #00-09 has been approved by the City Council of <br />the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
