ORDINANCE #89- 21 <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 150.01 known as the Sewage Disposal Systems <br />Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 150.01 of the City Code° <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br /> Section 150.01 of the Ramsey City Code pertaining to on site <br />treatment systems is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />150.01.4E DOSING DEVICES FOR PRESSURE DISTRIBUTIONS <br /> <br /> 1. The dosing device shall be a pump which is cast iron or <br />bronze fitted and with stainless steel screws or constructed of <br />sound, durable and corrosion-resistant materials. <br /> <br /> 2. The pump discharge capacity shall be at least seven and <br />one-half gallons per minute for each 100 square feet of soil <br />treatment area. <br /> <br /> 3. The pump discharge head shall be at least five feet <br />greater than the head required to overcome pipe friction losses and <br />the elevation difference between the pump and the distribution <br />device. <br /> <br /> 4. The quantity of effluent delivered for each pump cycle <br />shall be no greater than 25 percent of the one day's sewage flowo <br /> <br /> ° <br />failure. <br /> <br />An alarm device shall be installed to warn of pump <br /> <br /> 6. A siphon will not be allowed as a dosing device to deliver <br />effluent to a pressure distribution system. <br /> <br /> 7. The dosing chamber for a pressure distribution system <br />shall either include a two pump system or shall be sized to include <br />a minimum reserve capacity of 75 percent of the daily design flow. <br /> <br /> Section 150.01.4H of the Ramsey City Code pertaining to <br />alternative treatment systems in the urban service areas is amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
