CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE'OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 170. known as the Planning, Subdivision and <br />Signs Chapter of Chapter 170. of the City Code. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING sEcTION 170.013F-I to the City Code. <br /> <br />The city of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. PURPOSE AND FINDINGS. <br /> <br /> The purpose of this ordinance is to place a moratorium on <br /> the siting of any type of new landfill in the City of <br /> Ramsey. This ordinance is intended to allow the City time <br /> to conduct studies on the proper type of criteria necessary <br /> for the review of requests to site new landfills in the <br /> City. This purpose is important as the City Council finds <br /> that proper studies need to be conducted in order to protect <br /> the planning process and the health, safety and welfare of <br /> Ramsey's citizens. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. <br /> <br />Chapter 170 of the City Code is amended by addition of the <br />following section: <br /> <br />170.013F-I INTERIM REGULATION <br /> <br />Notwithstanding anything to the contrary <br />in any section of Chapter 170 of the <br />City Code, no new landfills of any type <br />will be allowed within the city either <br />as a permitted use or conditional use or <br />landfill siting requests considered by <br />the City during the period of time the <br />City is conducting studies on the <br />development of criteria- for the review <br />of requests to site new landfills. <br /> <br />be <br /> <br />The duration of this section and the <br />prohibition created by it shall not <br />exceed one year from the effective date <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. AUTHORITY. <br /> <br />This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority granted <br />to the...City by Minn. Statutes, Section 462.355, Subd. 4. <br /> <br /> <br />
