ORDINANCE //90-4 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 170.03, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE <br />SUBDIVISION CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 170.32 "INTERPRETATION AND <br />SCOPE" AND 170.038C STREETS OF CHAPTER 170.03 OF THE CITY CODE <br />OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY ORDAINS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1.. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 170.32 INTERPRETATION AND SCOPE: 21. STREETS shall be amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />Street. is a public right-of-way affording primary access by pedestrians and <br />vehicles abutting properties, whether designated as a street, highway, thoroughfare, <br />parkway, road, avenue or however otherwise designated. <br /> <br />bo <br /> <br />Collector street is a street which carries traffic from minor streets to arterials. It <br />includes the principal entrance streets of a residential development and streets for <br />circulation within such a development. <br /> <br />c..Cul-de-sac is a street with only one outlet and having an appropriate terminal for <br /> the safe and convenient reversal of traffic movement. <br /> <br />d. Minor street is a street used primarily for access to the abutting properties and the <br /> local needs of a neighborhood. <br /> <br />eo <br /> <br />"Service street", "lane" or "road" is a street which is adjacent to a thoroughfare <br />and which provides access to abutting properties and protection from through <br />traffic. <br /> <br />f. Street width is the shortest distance between the lot lines delineating the righ~-of- <br /> way of a street. <br /> <br />g. Minor arterial is a street primarily designated to carry large volumes of traffic and <br /> serves as an intra-thoroughfare between various districts of the City. <br /> <br />h. Major arterial is a thoroughfare (inter-community travel) which is a major vehicle <br /> transportation corridor throughout the region. <br /> <br />i. Urban streets are those streets located within the 2000 URBAN AREA and the <br /> URBAN RESERVE AREA. <br /> <br />j. Rural ,streets are those streets located outside the 2000 URBAN AREA or the <br /> URBAN RESERVE AREA. <br /> <br /> <br />
