ORDINANCE //90-4 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 170.03, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE SUBDIVISION CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 170.32 "INTERPRETATION AND SCOPE" AND 170.038C STREETS OF CHAPTER 170.03 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY ORDAINS: SECTION 1.. AMENDMENT Section 170.32 INTERPRETATION AND SCOPE: 21. STREETS shall be amended to read as follows: ao Street. is a public right-of-way affording primary access by pedestrians and vehicles abutting properties, whether designated as a street, highway, thoroughfare, parkway, road, avenue or however otherwise designated. bo Collector street is a street which carries traffic from minor streets to arterials. It includes the principal entrance streets of a residential development and streets for circulation within such a development. c..Cul-de-sac is a street with only one outlet and having an appropriate terminal for the safe and convenient reversal of traffic movement. d. Minor street is a street used primarily for access to the abutting properties and the local needs of a neighborhood. eo "Service street", "lane" or "road" is a street which is adjacent to a thoroughfare and which provides access to abutting properties and protection from through traffic. f. Street width is the shortest distance between the lot lines delineating the righ~-of- way of a street. g. Minor arterial is a street primarily designated to carry large volumes of traffic and serves as an intra-thoroughfare between various districts of the City. h. Major arterial is a thoroughfare (inter-community travel) which is a major vehicle transportation corridor throughout the region. i. Urban streets are those streets located within the 2000 URBAN AREA and the URBAN RESERVE AREA. j. Rural ,streets are those streets located outside the 2000 URBAN AREA or the URBAN RESERVE AREA.
