<br />Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #24-011 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING EDA FUNDING FOR REPLACEMENT OF ENTRANCE <br />MONUMENT AT TH #47 AND BUNKER LAKE BOULEVARD NW <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the entrance monument sign located at the NW corner of the intersection of <br />Trunk Highway 47 and Bunker Lake Boulevard NW originally funded by the EDA was destroyed <br />by an automobile crash; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has received $4,500 in insurance money for the destroyed sign but <br />has had to wait to replace it due to ongoing construction at the intersection of Trunk Highway 47 <br />and Bunker Lake Boulevard NW which has now been completed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff asked three qualified businesses for quotes to construct a replacement <br />monument sign consistent with City branding but only received one quote from Signation Sign <br />Group for $23,643; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Both the Public Works Committee and EDA made recommendations to the <br />City Council to fund the replacement of the entrance monument in an amount not to exceed <br />$26,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the monument sign location at the northwest corner of Trunk Highway #47 <br />and Bunker Lake Boulevard NW is an entry point into the city with lots of visibility and high <br />traffic counts. <br /> <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey award the bid to construct the sign to Signation <br />Sign Group for $23,643 and that the entire project cost (including landscaping and shrubs) <br />to not exceed $26,000. <br /> <br />2) The City Council authorizes $21,500 from the Unencumbered EDA Fund Balance and <br />$4,500 in insurance money to fund the replacement of the City Entrance Monument. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Woestehoff, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Woestehoff <br /> Councilmember Howell <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
