Norman
City Engineer Steven Jankowski

CALL TO ORDER

Councilmember Zimmennan called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order
at 5:05 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

None

COMMITTEE BUSINESS

City Engineer Jankowski stated that if there were enough time, he would like to bring a change
order to the Committee for 14Y'd sewer and water extension. The Committee stated that they
would deal with that at the end of the meeting.

Case gl: Update of T.H. #47 STP Project (Improvement Project #98-14)

City Engineer Jankowski gave an update on Improvement Project #98-14. He stated that we
have begun making relocation package offers to residents of the 12 properties we will buy out.
We have made offers to seven of 12. We have one signed purchase order back in our hands.
That is the status of this project. It will be an overrun with regard to costs but we will have
$56,000 that we will not have to spend raising the homes because of ACCAP. They take care of
removal of the homes and the foundations. We will still be running at about $100,000 behind.
He offered to make a list of everything the City is ending up being responsible for - closing
costs, moving costs, etc. He estimated $20,000 per home would cover all that but the comps are
very high.

Case #2: Discuss Drainage Issue at the Intersection of 164th Lane and CSAH #5

City Engineer Jankowski stated that the house in question is the second house north of the
intersection with 164th Lane. He pumps water from his yard but one cannot really pump into
someone else's yard. We feel this is a problem between neighbors. To complicate matters a bit
further, the ultimate disposition of the public drainage, south of 164th Lane, is onto private
Public Works Committee/April 20, 1999
