Weekly UPDATE Administrator's Report March 1, 2024 Council Update Election Day - March 5 A Presidential Nomination Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 5. All 9 polling locations will be open for voting from 7:00 am-8:00 pm. For a list of polling locations visit our website at www.cityoframsey.com/165. In - person absentee voting is also available at Ramsey City Hall Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Saturday, March 2, from 9:00 am-3:00 pm and Monday, March 4, from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Seasonal Maintenance Worker - Temporary -Full -Time Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly Closing Date: Open Until Filled Primary Objective of Position: To assist City staff with general maintenance of park grounds, streets, trails, buildings and related facilities and equipment through the spring, summer and possibly fall months. This also includes mowing and trimming, pruning and planting trees, working on landscape projects, maintaining athletic fields, picking up trash, streets maintenance and utilities maintenance. These are temporary, non -union positions working up to forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. These positions start in April or May and run through the Fall months, depending on availability, workload and rules of Minnesota Public Employment Labor Relations (PELRA). There is no guarantee of further employment after the season has concluded. All candidates must be at least 17 years of age or older by June 15, 2024, and have a valid Minnesota driver's license in good standing. First interviews will begin on or near March 27, 2024, and will continue weekly until all the positions have been filled. Last Thursday, a group of 26 boarded a luxury coach bus on our first ever ages 55+ Day Trip where we learned how the mob shaped Minnesota history in the Prohibition Era. With favorable participation, a modest revenue was generated that will be reinvested in future recreation programs - and, fun was had by all! The next 55+ field trip will be on April 25 to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for their special Art in Bloom annual event followed by a luncheon. Speaking of new programs, don't miss this Saturday's "Duck, Duck, Wood Duck" event; registration is nearly full. Families will work together to build a Wood Duck house for placement in Ramsey's parks and create a wildlife habitat right in our own backyards. Coming up in April, we will host our first -ever Puzzle Competition. Teams of up to four will be challenged to be the first to complete a 500-piece puzzle featuring a photo from Ramsey's 2023 photo contest. See attached flyers.
