Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #92-01-004 <br /> RESOLUTION GRANTING PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF THE CONCEPT OF THE <br /> MISSISSIPPI WEST REGIONAL PARK WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Anoka initiated acquisition of land for an eventual park <br /> development owned by Herbert Huseby in 1975 located between U.S. Highway 410, the <br /> Mississippi River and just east of Traprock StreetN.W. within the City of Ramsey; and <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County has proposed a total of 273.17 acres at this same location for <br /> development as a regional park facility; and <br /> WHEREAS, this development would include a trail head, canoe access, camping nature <br /> area and programming and related passive park uses; and <br /> WHEREAS, development of the park as a regional facility will have a positive impact <br /> upon the image of the City of Ramsey within the Metropolitan Area. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) That preliminary concept approval is hereby granted to the proposal by Anoka County for <br /> a regional facility known as the Mississippi West Regional Park. <br /> 2) That precedent for any final concept approval, it is directed that the Anoka County Parks <br /> Department work with the City of Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission on further <br /> development of the Regional Park Concept Plan and integration of this plan into existing <br /> and future park and trail developments within the City of Ramsey. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> Beyer, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Gilbertson <br /> Councilmember Peterson <br /> Councilmember Beyer <br /> Councilmember Cich <br /> Councilmember Hardin <br /> and the following voted against the same: <br /> None <br /> and the following abstained: <br /> None <br /> and the following were absent: <br /> None <br />
