Councilme~'r Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #93-02-019 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HOLMES & GRAVEN TO REPRESENT THE <br />CITY OFI ~RA~MSEY IN LAWSUITS COMMENCED BY JOHN STARKS AND <br />CHRISTOPHER FIELDS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has been named, along with 35 other municipalities <br />and the Mintacsola Police Recruitment System (MPRS), as a defendant in two lawsuits commenced <br />by John Statk, s al~l Christopher Fields; and <br /> <br /> WH~REAS, the Minnesota Police Recruitment System has retained the firm of Holmes <br />& Graven t0. defend it in the lawsuits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey believes that it is in its best interest to defend the case <br /> jointly with MPI~S. <br />I NOW THI~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />I 1) That l~Iolmes & Graven is authorized to represent the City of Ramsey in the lawsuits <br /> conumnc~ by John Starks and Christopher Fields. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer and up6n VOte being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />MaY0rGilbertson <br />Couneilrnember Peterson <br />Couneflmernber Beyer <br />Courg!lmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 9th day of February, 1993. ---'7 '-~ ....~ ~ <br /> <br /> ..~dVIayor ' <br /> <br />Oi~ A3minisieator <br /> <br /> <br />
