<br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANORA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOtA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a special meeting on Wednesdays <br />July 13, 1988 at the Ramsey Munic ipal Center s 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N. W. s <br />Ramseys Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mr. Roy Shumway, Chairman <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />Building Official Elvin Erickson <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Shumway called the special Board of Adjustment meeting to order at <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Request For Variance From Section 170.076 Of The Ramsey City <br />Code To Encroach On The Reouired Setback From The Rum River; <br />Case Of Mr. Dean Hanson: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris noted receipt of a letter from Mr. John Stine of the DNR stating <br />no objection to Mr. Hanson's request. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howell stated that he sees no new documentation to warrant <br />changing the Commission's July 7 determination that there should be 110 <br />feet, rather than the 103 feet being requested, from the river to the <br />closes point of the home. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaDue stated that he feels the Commission should keep with <br />it's past policy to establish a setback that would reflect a compromise of <br />setbacks on adjacent properties; in this case that would be 103 feet. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to <br />amend Item #1 of the proposed variance to read as follows: 'The structure <br />shall not encroach on the Rum River by more than 103 feet.' <br />Board of Adjustment/July 13, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
