<br />. <br /> <br />CI'IY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNfY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Board of <br />Adjustment held a public hearing in regards to the variance request <br />of Mr. August Grosslein on January 8, 1979 at the Ramsey MUnicipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Present: Councilman Muller <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Cox <br />Mayor Garnec <br /> <br />Also Present CityAdrn. Schnelle <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />Building Official Berg <br />Street Super. Mevissen <br /> <br />Councilman Muller called the Board of Adjustment meeting to order at <br />7:45 P.M. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Councilman Muller stated the reason for the Board of Adjustment hearing <br />was on the request of Mr. Duke Grosslein for a variance on the side yard <br />setback requirements from 40 feet to 20 feet. <br /> <br />A letter was read from Roger and Marlys Dickenson regarding the Grosslein <br />request. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Grosslein explained his request for variance in that it would enable <br />him to build a larger building and he could park his trucks inside at <br />night and also the semi's could be parked inside while unloading. <br /> <br />It was noted by Mr. Grosslein he would be placing dry wells on the side <br />by the motel for easing of the drainage problem. <br /> <br />In checking with the ordinance it was noted the side yard setback require- <br />ment is 60 feet rather than the 40 feet MY. Grosslein had been told pre- <br />viously. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox to continue the Board of Adjustment hearing <br />at a later date and at that time get more citizen input and have an <br />engineering report. <br /> <br />It was decided to have the Citizen Input at this time. Councilman Cox <br />withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Roger Dickenson asked why everyone hadn' t received a notice of this <br />hearing. <br /> <br />She was told the law states only those within 350 feet of the property <br />of the one requesting the variance. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mrs. Roger Dickenson stated a ditch had been built by Mr. Roger Dickenson <br />to protect the homeowners. She also stated that Mr. Grosslein isn't <br />taking anyone into consideration but himself on this. <br /> <br />Mr. Grosslein stated he was not there to argue with anyone on it. He was <br />just simply asking for a variance. <br />
