<br />.- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />BOARD OF RE.VIE.W <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA CX)UN!'Y <br /> <br />The Ramsey Board of Review conducted a meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 1988 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 libwthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />~mbers Present: Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilrnember Al Pearson <br />Councilrnember Al Sorteberg <br />Councilrnember Steve DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: City Assessor Lester Wirz <br />Anoka County Deputy Assessor Gordy Starky <br /> <br />~mbers Absent: Councilrnember Arnie Cox <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the continuation of the May 3, 1988 Board of Review to <br />order at 7:23 p.m. <br /> <br />BOARD OF ~EW <br /> <br />Tbm Roof - 14369 Waco - PIN #25-32-25-42-0012 - <br />, <br /> <br />Mr. Starky recalled that Mr. Wirz assessed Mr. Roof I s property at $195,000; <br />Mr. Wirz determined that it could be adjusted to $185,000; the County has <br />inspected the property since May 3 and arrived at a valuation of $189,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Roof stated that the formulas for figuring assessed valuation are based <br />on g;Juare footage; homes comparable to his in square footage are selling <br />for $147,000; the formula for valuation should be based on current market <br />sales rather than g;Juare footage. Mr. Roof noted that a home identical to <br />his in the same area, with approximately $15,000 in amenities, is valued at <br />$212,000 and he could have purchased it one year ago for $180,000; the <br />County isn It p;l.ying attention to what hanes are really selling for. Mr. <br />Roof stated that he feels the market value should reflect a price you can <br />successfully sell a home for; he feels he could obatain $179,900 for his <br />hane. <br /> <br />Barry Drevlow - 14325 Waco - Stated that he owns the hane that Mr. Roof is <br />using as a comparison and he also feels that his property is valued too <br />high. Mr. Drevelow stated that he purchased the herne, after it was on the <br />market for over a year, for $188,000; deduct the $15,000 in extras and that <br />leaves a structure value of $173,000 which is closer to the general rule <br />that assessed value should be approximately 93% of the market value. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca noted that fvT.r. Roof can prove that it cost $165,000 to <br />build the home last fall; questioned how County Assesor could place a value <br />of $189,946 on the home since last fall. <br />Board of Review/May 10, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
