The City will turn it to chips and give a gift to our parks. Your tree will be used as mulch to help parks from erosion, drought and provide valuable fertilizer. The warming house hours at Central Park (Armstrong Blvd. and 161st Avenue) and Ramsey Community School (15000 Nowthen Blvd. N W.) will be the same as last winter and are as follows: Weekdays 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m. if needed) Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sundays & 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. CHRISTMAS VACATION: Weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sundays 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Christmas Eve 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Christmas Day Closed New Years Eve 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. New Years Day 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. RINK WILL BE CLOSED IF: 1. Temperatures are 10 degrees below or more and expected to remain that way. 2. Rinks are in unsafe condition due to warm weather. 3. Attendant may close if weather conditions are, and ex- pected to remain extreme. 4. Temperatures are 32 degrees or above. RINK RESERVATION Residents wishing to reserve the rink for special skating par- ties may do so by calling Utilitis/Park Coordinator, Mark Boos (427-1480 or 427-1741. AHA Hockey Teams must also call Utilities/Park Coordinator. No more than 1 1/2 hours per practice or more than 3 prac- tices in advance may be scheduled. The Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department presented $50 sav- ings bonds to the winners of the Fire Prevention Poster Col- oring Contest. The teachers at Ramsey Elementary School selected three posters from each grade that most related to fire prevention. The final selection of winners was made by a Fire Department committee. One winner per grade was selected. The presentation of the bonds was made by Fire Chief Bruce Hoeke and Assistant Chief Jaime Axt. True: R.Y.A.A. offers sport participation to over 800 of your boys and girls. False: R.Y.A.A. runs itself. Step Forward: Elections for the 1990 R.Y.A.A. board members is Monday, January 22, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. at the Teen Center in Cen- tral Park. Positions Open: President Elect - Assists the 1990 Presi- dent and becomes the 1991 President. Athletic Advisor - Assists the sport direc- tors and coaches in all the individual sports. Secretary - Types minutes of the monthly board meetings. Individual Sport Directors - Jr. High Girls Softball; Baseball Grades 3 & 4; Baseball Grades 5 & 6. DISCOVER RAMSEY BUSINESS EXPO: PLANS ARE IN THE WORKS The next Discover Ramsey Business Expo is planned for Sun- day, March 4, 1990 at Ramsey Elementary School. Anyone wishing to assist in the planning should call Jack Ippel at 753-4165. POSTAL CUSTOMER Ken Orttel of the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust presented a check in the amount of $13,299.00 to Mayor Gary Reimann. This check represents a refund on liability insurance due to the City's low claim rate. RAMSEY YOUTH ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (R. Y.A.A.) ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND SPRING/SUMMER SPORTS REGISTRATION When: Sunday, February 11, 1990 Where: Ramsey Elementary School at 15000 Nowthen Blvd. NW. Time: 7:30 a.m. We need your help selling tickets to insure another successful R.Y.A.A. season. Those wishing to help with the ticket sales can pick up tickets at the Teen Center in Central Park on January 16 and January 23 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. TREE ORDER BLANKS ARE AVAILABLE AT CITY HALL Tree seedling and transplant order blanks are available at City Hall from the Anoka County Soil/Water Conservation District (ACSWCD). Orders will be accepted through March 30, 1990. Persons ordering trees after March 1 should first call the ACSWCD office to check on availability of species; trees are sold on a first come first serve basis. The trees are available in bundles of 25 and include norway pine, white spruce, white pine, black spruce, scotch pine, silver maple, green ash and black walnut. Shrubs are available in bundles of 10 and include caragana, ginnala maple, sand cherry and common lilac. .
