SEPTEMBER 1991, VOLUME 6, NO.9

STORM SIREN
WATCHERS NEEDED

We are again soliciting persons to act
as storm siren observers throughout
the City. We asked for volunteers a
while back and only got two
responses (if you are those two and
are now reading this, please hang in there as I still have
your names). It may be that there was a dismal response
because, as one of the responders so politely and kindly put
it, I got so carried away with my writing that the message was
totally lost in verbiage! Therefore, this will be short and sweet:

VOLUNTEERS · VOLUNTEERS · VOLUNTEERS
We need persons to listen for the storm sirens on the FIRST Wednesday of each month at 1 :00
p.m. The purpose of this is to confirm that the sirens are working properly on test day. This
information, coupled with electronic monitoring, gives us a way to keep the sirens properly
serviced.
If you, dear Reader, are usually home and awake during test day, particularly at 1 :00 p.m., and
you want to volunteer, please call us at 427-6812. Once we have a solid roster (hopefully two
persons per siren site) we will distribute a dozen post cards per observer, one for each month.
They will be prestamped and have just a few blanks to fill out reporting what you heard and saw.
All you have to do is be there, fill out the card and mail it in. IF INTERESTED PLEASE
CALL 427-6812.

Thank you.
Chief of Police Mike Auspos

ATTENTION RAMSEY RESIDENTS

The City of Ramsey is currently seeking a candidate to fill a vacancy on its Economic
Development Commission.
