The $1.1 million, 1.8 mile stretch of
road links Highway #5 with County Road #56 (Ramsey Boulevard NW).
Road construction began last October, less than one year after City Council approval. The
Dressel Construction Company of Forest Lake completed the road, designed by Hakanson
Anderson Associates, Inc. of Anoka.
"People take transportation for granted," said Steve Jankowski, City Engineer. "Highway #10
is the industry lifeblood of this community and it is projected to be over capacity in a few years.
"This road will take some pressure off Highway #10 and allow people to travel shorter, more
direct routes. It also makes emergency vehicle access quicker to other parts of the City."
The City is pursuing minor land acquisitions to complete the project, Jankowski said.

American Red Cross

Golf Tournament to

Benefit Local Red Cross-

September 3

The first Anoka County Red Cross "Bank
for Life" golf tournament will be September
3rd at Majestic Oaks Golf Course, 701
Bunker Lake Blvd., Ham Lake, MN.
The tournament, sponsored by financial
institutions in Anoka County, features a 5:30
PM dinner open to the public, tickets are $25.
Proceeds from the dinner and tournament will
help provide Red Cross community
instruction and disaster relief.
A scramble golf format will feature a
variety of contests including a hole-in-one
event sponsored by Grant McKay's Coon
Rapids Chrysler Plymouth and Lincoln
Mercury.
