The City is required to match these funds for
developing athletic facilities in River's Bend Park.
River's Bend Park is located in the southeast cor-
ner of the City east of State Highway 47 in an ox-
bow of the Rum River. The City is planning to
develop this park as a multiple use, community park
facility. The northern portion of the park (approx-
imately 26 acres) will be developed as an active use
area. Planned improvements for this area include
ball/soccer fields, site improvements, tennis courts,
access road and parking area and landscaping.
An informational meeting on these improvements
will be held by the Ramsey Park and Recreation
Commission on Thursday, March 10, 1988 at 7:00
p.m. at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153
Nowthen Boulevard N.W.

COUNCIL SETS

SNOWMOBILE LIMITS

This year the Ramsey Police Department has
received numerous complaints from the residents
about snowmobilers crossing and damaging private
property while weaving their way through the snow.
As a result, the City Council requested that the Park
Commission draft an ordinance that would regulate
snowmobile activity to protect private property and
public property. In the interim, the City Council deter-
mined that it was apparent that immediate action
was needed and they adopted an emergency
snowmobile ordinance on January 26.
Snowmobiles are now prohibited from traveling in
ditches and road right-of-way. Snowmobile activity
is limited to the right hand curb or edge of the road-
way. Snowmobiles are not allowed on public
sidewalks or boulevards; to ride on private property
will require written permission from the property
owner and to ride on school grounds will require per-
mission from school authorities. The ordinance also
establishes that it is unlawful to operate a
snowmobile within 100 feet of any residence during
the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday through
Thursday and midnight to 8 a.m. on Fridays and
Saturdays.
To find out where official snowmobile trails are
located, contact the State Department of Trails and
Waterways at 297-1151 or the Anoka County Parks
Department at 421-4760.

POSTAL CUSTOMER

R.Y.A.A.
