CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jerry Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Principal City Engineer Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALLTO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 6:10 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Highway #10 Moratorium-Tinklenberg Group <br /> <br />City Adnfinistrator Norman explained that the City Council contracted with The Tinklenberg <br />Group to assist the City with addressing Highway #10 and other transportation issues in the City. <br /> <br />EIwyn Tinklenberg, The Tinklenberg Group, explained in regards to the Highway #10 <br />moratorium, they have met with business owners along Highway #10. The meetings were <br />conducted to provide an overview of City related issues and to address their concerns so that they <br />had a source of information as the City moves forward with the process. The initial reactions <br />from the business owners were somewhat skeptical and resistant but as discussions continued <br />they realized they could work through a lot of the concerns and the meetings ended on a positive <br />note. Another task The Tinklenberg Group will be working on is communicating with <br />transportation and political officials regarding the opportunities along the Highway #10 corridor <br />and other processes that would assist the City. They have had contact with Representatives Jim <br />Abler and Kathy Tinglestad and the meetings have been very positive. A meeting has been <br />scheduled for the Council and staff to meet with Mark Kennedy.
