Council provided
direction to staff to revise the Facility Use and Rental Policy and to establish a policy for the
newsletter. Both policies were presented for the Council's review.

Councilmember Elvig felt that the language under Reservations stating "An attempt should be
made to find other alternatives and give three days notice whenever possible." should be
removed.

Councilmember Cook felt that the language provides notice to anyone that is renting the facility
that the City would make an attempt to contact them if there was a need to use the facility for a
City event, because City events supersede any other use.

City Council Work Session/April 22, 2003
