'>"_'_"'" '" .d, .-' <br />,One of the projects that has been widely publicized is <br />,Operation Crime Watch, which does more to stop and <br />, control burglaries than any other type of prevention. The <br />program is sponsored by your local Police Department and <br />involves your being given a personal LD. number and <br />marking your possessions with this number. This enables us <br />and yourself to identify your items if the need arises. To <br />enroll, call or stop in the Municipal Center for information. <br />Some of the information. supplied by Operation Crime <br />Watch includes idea's and details to help make ,your home <br />more secure. Three . of the' ideas are listed as follows: 1) <br />Have good "dead-bolt" locks installed in your doors, the <br />kind that gO at least .1% to 2 inches into the frame and lock <br />on both sides of the door with a key. These are not as easy <br />to kick in and prevent entry through the door. Also the <br />burglar .cannot unlock the door from the inside without a <br />key making it difficult to remove large items, 2)Another <br />good deterent for preventing night activity is light. By the <br />use of timers both inside and out; (most are inexpensive <br />
