The event
was attended by over 1,000 residents from the City of
Ramsey and surrounding communities. "Our
attendance was down slightly from last year when we
had over 1 ,200 people, but we were put at odds with
one of the more beautiful days that we have had this
fall. With temperatures in the mid-60's and rain for
five days preceding the event, we thought the turnout
was very good when taking those things into
consideration," said David Kent, one of the cochairs
of this year's event. Even with the lower turnout,
excitement was found everywhere as people stopped
at the many booths, signed up for prizes and received
free gifts for just coming by and talking to the
participants. A new addition to the food court this
year was Taco Bell who stated that they had a very
good response and look forward to returning to the
1993 Ramsey Business EXPO.

As the crowd of residents mingled throughout the
booths and talked to many of the fine merchants and
representatives attending the EXPO, they were
entertained with a jazzercise demonstration by
Jazzercise of Ramsey, a dance presentation by J & L
Academy of Dance Arts of Fridley and the Upbeat
Kitchen Band which is a group of senior citizens from
the Anoka-Ramsey area. Many children were excited
to find and have their picture taken with 'Crunch," the
Timberwolves mascot, as he roamed the EXPO
signing autographs and giving away child-size Nestle
Crunch bars. Many of the booths gave away a wide
variety of prizes including $50 gift certificates,
certificates for free carnations and coffee mugs. In
addition to all of these free prizes were numerous
door prizes. Pete Turok was kept busy most of the
day announcing prize winners. The following door
prizes were given away:

CONTINUED ON PAGE 6

i'

:1
