<br /> <br />RAMSEY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT <br />AND APPRECIATION DAY SET FOR <br />AUGUST 27 I 1993 <br /> <br />Ramsey Mayor Jim Gilbertson has declared August 27, 1993 as the 5th Annual <br />Business Development and Appreciation Day. This event will again be sponsored <br />by the City of Ramsey, the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ramsey <br />Economic Development Commission. Events will include an 18 hole scramble golf <br />tournament, social hour; dinner and awards ceremony. Everyone is invited whether <br />or not they are local business owners. In <br />addition, the study will help determine the need for <br />supplementary dietary fluoride and measure lead levels in <br />private wells. <br />The research project is funded by an Agricultural Preserves <br />grant and will include up to 400 household wells selected at <br />random. Property owners will be contacted this summer to <br />arrange for data and sample collection. Communities included in <br />the domestic well analysis include Andover, Bethel, Centerville, <br />East Bethel, Ham Lake, Uno Lakes, Ramsey and St. Francis and <br />the townships of Burns, Columbus, Unwood and Oak Grove. <br /> <br />ATTENTION RAMSEY RESIDENTS <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is currently seeking a candidate to fill a <br />vacancy on its Park and Recreation Commission. The primary <br />objective of the Commission is to monitor and reflect the attitudes <br />and concerns of the citizens of Ramsey relative to the park <br />system and recreation programs, and to advise the City Council <br />of citizen attitudes and policy matters relevant to the park and <br />recreation function in Ramsey. The Park and Recreation <br />Commission meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6:00 <br />p.m. Ramsey residents interested in serving on the Commission <br />are requested to submit a letter of application by 5:00 p.m. by <br />Friday, August 6, 1993 to Kay McAloney, Personnel Coordinator <br />at Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. Letters of application should contain <br />the applicant's name, address, telephone number, work <br />experience, education, and any experience in municipal affairs. <br />In addition, applicants should include a statement listing their <br />reasons for seeking appointment to the Park and Recreation <br />Commission.
