First, Council had previously allocated $9,000 in
Community Development Block Grant Funds towards completion of an accessible trailway in
Central Park intended to provide paved access to all of the various amenities located in Central
Park. Second, at the Jure 8, 1993 meeting, Council awarded a bid for the infrastructure
improvements for the River's Bend 3rd Addition. As part of that residential subdivision, the City
will be placing a sidewalk along Xkimo Street N.W. intersecting with 142nd Avenue N.w., then
east into River's Bend Park. Next, recently Council approved the Amber Ridge subdivision. As
part of that subdivision and the incumbent development agreement, Council authorized a trail
iJ!ll2.rovement that will run throughout the subdivision and north of the subdivision between
( Jer Woods and Gorham's Sandy Acres subdivisions, finally terminating at 153rd Avenue
rm. between Waco and Ute Streets N.w.
In 1992, the City Council authorized the Rivenwick subdivision located south of Highway
#10 between Ramsey Boulevard and Feldspar Street. As part of this subdivision, Council has
authorized dedicated park dollars towards development of a trail in the subdivision as well as a
ballfield improvement just off Riverdale Drive. This will result in development of the first
municipally owned park located south of Highway #10.
In 1992, the City began development of the Emerald Pond Park as part of the Chestnut
Pond, Chestnut Hill, Cedar Hills and Windemere Woods subdivisions located north of County
Road #116 and just east of Tungsten Street N.w. As part of the June 8th action, Council
authorized continuance of the park development. It is contemplated that a baseball field, a
soccer field and picnic areas will occur in 1993.
Finally, Council authorized initiation of the Lake Itasca Trail. This is a 2.3 mile long trail
starting at the Whispering Pines subdivision in the vicinity of 156th Lane N.w running
northwest to the Hunters Ridge subdivision, then east to Armstrong Boulevard at approximately
167th Lane N.w. Included is an environmental trail section that will run through prairie areas as
well as wetland and wooded areas and will be the most significant municipally constructed
trailway found in the community as of this date.
All of the abQve projects should begin to take shape later on this summer. Any questions or
comments should be addressed to the Parks Department.

RAMSEY CITY CODE LEASH ORDINANCE

There have been numerous complaints from residents in the last several months regarding
('j that are not on leashes.
