<br /> <br />ANNUAL SPRING PET CLINIC <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey will be sponsoring its annual spring pet vaccination clinic on <br />Saturday, May 1, 1993 from 8:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m. Vaccinations will be administered at the <br />Ramsey Park Center Building at Central Park, 7925 - 161 st Avenue NW. The following shots <br />will be offered: <br /> <br />Rabies (canine and feline) $ 3.00 <br />DHLP-P (canine) $10.00 <br />(Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) <br />Pan RC-C-P (feline) $ 7.00 <br />(Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia, Pneumonitis, Chlamydia) <br /> <br />The City is able to offer these exceptional discounted vaccination prices in cooperation <br />with local veteranians. This year's clinic is co-sponsored by Ramsey Animal Hospital. <br />Dogs and cats must be at least three months of age to be vaccinated for rabies. City <br />Ade requires that all dogs be vaccinated against rabies and licensed. City personnel will be <br />--iilable to issue dog licenses and identification tags at the pet clinic. If your dog has been <br />vaccinated recently but you do not have a current license, you may obtain a license at the <br />clinic by bringing in the current rabies vaccination certificate. The license fee is $3.00 for <br />neutered males and females and $5.00 for unneutered males and females. Dogs must be <br />licensed when they reach six months of age. The license is valid for two years to coincide <br />with the rabies vaccination. The City does not require the licensing of cats. <br />ALL ANIMALS MUST BE LEASHED WHEN BROUGHT TO THE CLINIC. <br /> <br />YOU ARE URGED TO PROTECT YOUR PET, YOURSELF AND YOUR COMMUNITY BY <br />PARTICIPATING IN THE PET VACCINATION CLINIC. <br /> <br />SUMMER JOBS AVAILABLE <br />FOR YOUTHS THROUGH ANOKA COUNTY <br /> <br />Summer job applications for Anoka County youth ages 14-21 are currently being accepted <br />by the Anoka County Job Training Center's Summer Youth Program office. <br />The 1993 Summer Youth Program provides work experience opportunities throughout <br />Anoka County at parks, libraries, school buildings, government offices and public nonprofit <br />agencies. Work hours generally range between 20 and 40 hours per week at a $4.25 hourly <br />wage. <br />Work activities for in-school youth begin in June and will last approximately 6 to 10 weeks. <br />In addition to summer employment, in-school youth participants will be offered basic literary <br />classes and world-of-work orientation. Young people who are out of school and are between <br />the ages of 16 and 21 may also apply for summer employment and start jobs' in April and May. <br />Youth from 1amilies receiving GA, AFDC, RCA or food stamps, foster children, <br />............,dicapped youth, and students who qualify for free lunch programs are encouraged to apply <br />__j will receive first priority. <br />College students seeking opportunity to lead a work crew or help in classes should contact <br />the Job Training Center. <br />Applications can be obtained at school guidance offices, the Anoka County Courthouse <br />and the Anoka Human Service Center in Blaine. For more information, contact Rick Johnson <br />or the Summer Youth staff at the Anoka County Job Training Center at 783-4800. <br /> <br /> <br />MAY 1993, VOLUME 8, 110. 5 <br />DAYTIME VOLUNTEER <br />FIRE FIGHTERS <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey has the newest fire <br />department in the State of Minnesota. An advantage <br />of this is that the start up results in all new vehicles <br />and equipment. A disadvantage is that it takes some <br />period of time to achieve desired levels of staffing. <br />The City currently provides fire protection to <br />community homes and businesses with a 22 to 30 <br />member force of volunteer fire fighters. The City is <br />currently accepting applications for daytime volunteer <br />Fire Fighters. Applicants must be physically able to <br />perform activities of the position as determined by <br />medical and agility examinations. Must be at least 18 <br />years of age, possess a valid Minnesota driver's <br />license., and be drug-free and nicotine-free. Pay is <br />computed in $5.00 increments for fire calls, <br />department meetings, training, and drills. Retirement <br />and disability benefits available. City Council encourages <br />women and minorities to apply. <br /> <br />THIRD AlNUAL BECKY WEISS <br />MEMORIAL BIKE ROAD-EO <br /> <br />The Third Annual Becky Weiss Memorial Bike <br />Road-eo is just around the corner and preparations <br />are underway for an even bigger and better event this <br />year. <br />The Bike Road-eo will be held on Saturday, May <br />8, 1993 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center with registration beginning at 9:30 <br />a.m. The cost for the Bike Road-eo is $2.00 per child <br />which covers everything, including lunch and a bright <br />neon colored T-shirt, not to mention a chance to win <br />one of several bicycles and Twins tickets with the <br />Police Department. <br />Volunteers are needed!
