<br /> <br />1993 RAMSEY CLEAN-UP DAY SCHEDULED <br /> <br />FOR MAY 8, 1993 <br /> <br />1993 Clean-up Day has been tentatively scheduled for May 8, 1993. Volunteers <br />will be available to issue Clean-up Day permits free at City Hall during the <br />Environmental EXPO to be held on Saturday May 1, 1993. Perm its will also be <br />available from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 1993. Watch the next issue <br />of the Ramsey Resident for additional information and prices. <br /> <br />RAMSEY'S CITY COUNCIL PROUDLY ANNOUNCES: <br /> <br />THE UPCOMING 19TH ANNUAL TREE SALE AND 5TH <br /> <br />AIINUAL ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO! <br /> <br />Sabday, May I, 1993 from 7.., am. to 2..00 pm. <br />nTh is will be the 19th consecutive year the City of Ramsey has sponsored a Tree <br />"s~e for its residents. The Tree Sale is a convenient and economical way to obtain <br />trees and plants suitable for Ramsey's soils and conditions. The Tree Sale provides a <br />variety of trees at excellent values and, additionally, planting trees in our City enhances <br />the quality of life for all! <br />Environmental Exoo <br />In 1989 the City added an Environmental Exposition to this day's activities. The <br />Environmental Expo is a local event intended to provide an information exchange <br />between environmentally oriented businesses, agencies and residents. Both the Tree <br />Sale and the Expo will be held at the Ramsey Municipal Center. Similar to last year's <br />Bald Eagle Program there will likely be formalized environmental education. We look <br />forward to your suggestions and assistance in selecting this component. <br />Tree Sale <br />Each year Ramsey's Tree Sale gets bigger and better. There are already seven <br />nurseries reserving space to offer you quality, inexpensive planting materials! All of the <br />vendors are State certified and each are knowledgeable in how and what will work best <br />for you. The species are too numerous to list; there will be every1hing from asparagus <br />and raspberries to fruit trees, from large maples and lindens to tamarack and spruce. <br />Prices will vary beginning at $1 and up. <br />FREE seedling trees will be given to each member of your family by Tree <br />Committee volunteers, courtesy of the City of Ramsey and the Minnesota Department <br />of Resources. Also FREE will be $5,000.00 worth of deciduous trees to residents. The <br />catch? The balled and burlapped 2" tree must be planted with energy conservation in <br />mind. Primarily, this means shade for East and West windows! <br />It is hoped that one or more of these happenings will entice you and your family to <br />O. , Ramsey Municipal Center for a day of fun and environmentally conscious learning. <br />ailed information about May Day's activities will be in the next issue of the Ramsey <br />Resident. Groups or individuals wishing to receive <br />trees for Arbor Day planting on public property should also contact Mark for more <br />information. <br /> <br /> <br />APRIL 1993, VOLUME 8, NO.4 <br /> <br />THIRD AIINUAL BECKY WEISS <br /> <br />MEMORIAL BIKE ROAD-EO <br />The Third Annual Becky Weiss Memorial Bike Road-eo is <br />just around the corner and preparations are underway for an <br />even bigger and better event this year. <br />The Bike Road-eo will be held on Saturday, May 8, 1993 <br />from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Elementary <br />School with registration beginning at 9:45 a.m. The cost for <br />the Bike Road-eo is $2.00 per child which covers everything, <br />including lunch and a bright neon colored T-shirt. <br />Volunteers are needed! Please contact Jim Singewald or <br />Arlene Stafford at 427-6812 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. <br />Hope to see you all there! <br />The Weiss Family <br />Ramsey Police Department <br />Ramsey Lions Club <br /> <br />ANNUAL SPRING PET CLINIC <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey will be sponsoring its annual spring <br />pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, May 1, 1993 from 8:00 <br />a.m. to 12:00 noon. Vaccinations will be administered at the <br />Ramsey Park Center Building at Central Park, 7925 - 161 st <br />Avenue NW. The following shots will be offered: <br />Rabies (canine and feline) <br />DHLP-P (canine) <br />(Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, <br />Parvovirus) <br />Pan RC-C-P (feline) <br />(Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia, Pneumonitis, <br />Chlamydia) <br />Prices of each of the shots will be listed in the May issue <br />of the Ramsey Resident. Dogs and cats must be at least <br />three months of age to be vaccinated for rabies. City Code <br />requires that all dogs be vaccinated against rabies and <br />licensed. City personnel will be available to issue dog <br />licenses and identification tags at the pet clinic. If your dog <br />has been vaccinated recently but you do not have a current <br />license, you may obtain a license at the clinic by bringing in <br />the current rabies vaccination certificate. The license fee is <br />$3.00 for neutered males and females and $5.00 for <br />unneutered males and females. Dogs must be licensed <br />when they reach six months of age. The license is valid for <br />two years to coincide with the rabies vaccination. The City <br />does not require the licensing of cats. <br /> <br />ALL ANIMALS MUST BE LEASHED WHEN BROUGHT TO <br />THE CLINIC! <br /> <br />YOU ARE URGED TO PROTECT YOUR PET, YOURSELF <br />AND YOUR COMMUNITY BY PARTICIPATING IN THE <br />PET VACCINATION CLINIC. <br />
