CITY NEWSLETTER

THE CITY OF RAMSEY
WELCOMES
JMJ BUSINESS CENTER

I

~

I

I

Left to right: Julian Johnson, Mayor Tom Gamec,
City Administrator Ryan Schroeder, and Bob Perovich

The City of Ramsey is proud to announce the
construction of a new 48,000 square foot JMJ Business
Center facility along the southside of McKinley Street
Northwest in the Ramsey Business Park. This large scale
multi-tennant facility allows Ramsey to offer a full range of
opportunities to relocating and expanding businesses. It will
provide bays ranging from 12,000 square feet to the entire
building area. "After our very positive experience with the
construction of the Heritage Millwork facility, we reviewed
market trends in the City of Ramsey and determined that a
facility with larger rental bays would be an ideal fit for the
local business environment. This proved to be correct with
the lease of over 12,000 square feet before the building is
completed," stated Julian Jolmson the owner of the new
facility.
The larger bays will complement the existing
Ramsey Business Park operated by Sharp and Associates
that provides for bays up to 3,000 square feet. Since the
facility has not yet been completed, the opportunity exists
for the space to be redesigned to meet a company's exact
needs at a potentially lower construction cost than a future
renovation of the facility. If you or your business is interested
in the possible rental of space in the new lMJ Business
Center, please contact Bob Perovich at 323-7501.

NOVIDEC 1997, VOLUME 12, NO.8
MINNESOTA TOOL & DIE
RELOCATING
IN RAMSEY

Left to right: Keith Sherer, Patricia Sherer,
Patrick Sherer, and Counci/member Beahen

In 1991, Keith Sherer and his son Patrick founded
Minnesota Tool and Die Works, Inc., a company whose
products are used mainly by industries servicing computers
and appliances. During its first six years of existence, the
company leased space in Maple Grove. Now, having
outgrown that space, the firm is building a new 20,000 square
foot facility in the Ramsey Business Park. Construction is
expected to begin next spring.
According to Vice President Patrick Sherer,
Minnesota Tool and Die learned about the Ramsey Business
Park from a developer. The location is convenient for the
company's 30 employees and the site accommodates a
building with 17,000 square feet of manufacturing space and
3,000 square feet of office space. Eventually, the firm expects
to add five to ten more employees.
I. Keith Sherer, President of Minnesota Tool and Die,
says he's looking forward to being in Ramsey. "Our
; customers will be well served by this move and our new
.' facility," he stated at the ground breaking ceremony. Ramsey
Mayor Tom Gamec, speaking on behalf of the City Council,
said the City shares Minnesota Tool and Die's excitement
i about the relocation. "We are really pleased that they chose
~ Ramsey. They are a welcome addition to the community
I and we wish them a long and prosperous future here."

w
