FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April, 14, 1998, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Acting Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />Fire Chief/Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen called the regular Finance Committee meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Review and Adopt the 1999 Budget Calendar <br /> <br />Acting Finance Officer Lund stated that the City Charter states that a budget calendar shall be <br />established annually by resolution. She presented the 1999 calendar. All of the dates indicated <br />for County and State activities are based on the time frames from 1997, and we have received <br />nothing indicating that the timing for the processes will change for 1998. If dates do change, this <br />calendar can be amended, <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend Council adopt <br />the resolution approving the City of Ramsey's Budget Calendar. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberHaas Steffen. <br /> <br />Case #2: Authorize Transfer of General Fund Revenues <br /> <br />Acting Finance Officer Lund stated that after meeting the fund balance requirements at 1997 year <br />end, $812,270.26 remained as excess revenues to be transferred from the General Fund.
