<br />FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Strommen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:38 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Chairperson Strommen, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Strommen, Councilmembers Elvig and Look. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Rejection of Fire Engine Bids and Authorize Revised Specifications to Solicit <br />Bids <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated on February 13,2007, City Council accepted staffs specifications and <br />authorized soliciting bids for a new fire engine. Bid proposals were received from two <br />manufacturers, Custom Fire and Rosenbauer-General. Custom Fire's proposal was $399,818 and <br />Rosenbauer-General's bid was $401,752. Although the bids were within $1,934 of each other, <br />staff was disappointed that the bids exceeded the 2007 budgeted amount of $360,000. The truck <br />committee reviewed the proposal and considered the following three options: 1) Accept the <br />lowest responsible bid; 2) Accept the lowest responsible bid and value engineer cost from the <br /> <br />Finance Committee / April 24, 2007 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
