<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />CoUIicilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief James Way <br />Management Intern Timothy Gladhill <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:04 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Contract for Towing Services <br /> <br />Police Chief Way reviewed that during the April 24, 2007 City Council meeting, Council <br />removed the contracted towing services item from the consent agenda and asked that it be <br />discussed at a future worksession. The three options would be to 1) extend the contract with <br />North Star Towing; 2) put the towing contract out for bid; 3) do not have a contract in place for <br />towing in the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented the Council had quite a discussion on this topic a couple of years ago. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig explained during the April 24th Council meeting, the gentleman from the <br />towing company laid a case on the table that the City is not being fair with him, and he would <br />like them to re-look at this, and that it should be put out for bid. Councilmember Elvig <br />commented circumstances may have changed since a couple of years ago, and the item was <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / May 8, 2007 <br />Page 1 of8 <br />
