CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Jerry Zimmerman (arrived at 5:50 p.m.) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br />Principal City Engineer Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak called the work session of the City Council to order at 5:43 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson updated the Council on where staff was at with the permit process <br />and reviewed the five year costs of implementing the program, which included costs the City is <br />currently collecting plus new costs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if staff was keeping a total of what the City is spending on <br />the program each year. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson explained that any funds that are spent on the program would <br />come fi'om the Storm Water Utility Fund, which makes it relatively easy for staff to track the <br />expenses. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman replied that he was not sure that that was the original intent of the <br />Storm Water Utility Fund. It was his impression that the intention of the Storm Water Utility <br />Fund was to correct large drainage problems. <br /> <br />Principal Engineer Olson stated that he thought the intent of the Storm Water Utility Fund was <br />for the overall management of the storm water system as well as correct drainage problems. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/May 6, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
