CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, in the Alexander Ramsey Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember John Dehen Councilmember David Jeffrey Councilmember Matt Look Members Absent: Councilmember David Elvig Councilmember Mary Jo Olson Councilmember Sarah Strommen Also Present: Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone City Clerk Jo Thieling - Recording Minutes CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the work session to order at 5:40 p.m. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION 1) City administrator Recruitment - Review of Qualified Applicants Human Resources Manager Reed Kone explained the purpose of this work session is for Council to select seven to 10 individuals from the 14 qualified applicants who were deemed by Andrea Sims of Waters-Oldani to be qualified to advance in the process. The applicants selected by the Council will be interviewed by Waters-Oldani. The City Council proceeded to go through the list of qualified applicants, discussing what they felt were the pros and cons of each candidate. Councilmembers Strommen and Olson, who were unable to attend the meeting, submitted their selections in writing. Following the discussion period and a telephone conversation with Andrea Sims of Waters- Oldani, regarding her reasons for advancing certain candidates, consensus of the Council was as follows: Candidate #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 13 and 14 shall proceed to the next step in the process of interviewing for the position of City Administrator for the City of Ramsey.
