COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Planning process began with a Visioning Meeting held at the Ramsey <br />Elementary School on September 18, 1997. All of Ramsey's residents were invited to attend. <br />The meeting started at 7:10 p.m. Mr. Fred Hoisington of Hoisington, Koegler, Group Inc. <br />explained the process of comprehensive planning and what the residents of Ramsey could expect. <br />He asked the residents to assist in coming up with a vision for Ramsey. The residents were <br />separated randomly into groups of eight or more per table and discussed things they felt were <br />issues/concerns about their City and how they want their City to be in the future. A tentative <br />schedule for the special interest meetings (urban, rural and commercial) was presented. The <br />meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m. <br /> <br />The first special interest meeting was held with urban residents on October 6, 1997. The meeting <br />took place at Ramsey Elementary School and began at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted as <br />an open forum with Brad Scheib from HKG, Inc. moderating. He explained again that these are <br />visioning meetings and people expressed their views of what they wanted to see in Ramsey in the <br />future. The meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />The next meeting was held on October 7, 1997 with rural residents and was held at the Cross of <br />Hope Lutheran Church. Mr. Hoisington was the meeting facilitator and this group had their <br />chance to express their issues/concerns and visions for Ramsey. The meeting adjoumed at 9:30. <br /> <br />The third meeting of the series was held at the Federal Shooting Sports Center on October 8, <br />1997. This was also a meeting of rural residents. Mr. Scheib was the moderator for this meeting <br />and again, views, concerns and visions were presented. The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br />The last meeting of this series was held on October 15, 1997. This meeting took place at the <br />Anoka Electric facility and was for the business community to provide input as to what they <br />wanted to see in Ramsey and what their concerns were.
